What I've Been Up To

Well, not much amigurumi sadly! I don't know why, but I just haven't been in the mood. I have started several ami's, get 5 rows in, then give up. I don't know why, but I just can't get into it.

I have been doing some crocheting though, for my Blythe doll Zoe. You've already seen the Fuzzy Bear Hat...

... and yesterday I made her a square hat and matching jacket...

I know it's July, but she insists on wearing it now! I will hopefully have the pattern for them up here soon :)

Apart from that I don't really have much to say :( I've been busy customising my fake Blythe doll Umi (follow her adventures here) and it's been really fun! I've done a bit of drilling, sanding, gluing, rerooting, painting, carving - it's been great! I even used yarn for her hair :)

Oh, wait! I did crochet a doll before I went away. I will get a picture of her for you asap :)

What I've Been Making

Currently Listening To: One - Metallca/ Drinking - Blue Charge (cheap Red Bull :P)/ Making - Blythe Jumper

Got a bumper issue of What I've Been Making this week! First off I made this Mutant Cactus, he's (they're) number 105 :) The tall thin guy has a special eye and is crying, bless him! I'm gonna keep this one me thinks :)

This guy is the very first Morris Mouth I made. He lives with me :)

Another Mini Pillow Pal, this time for the craft fair I am taking part in in Southend on May 1st. While I'm in Southend I'm gonna get more of them cool buttons I use for their eyes, they're fab!

This is Lulu, my new doll pattern :) She's got a big head and a tiny body, and curley hair. I made the hair by cutting the yarn into little strips, then seperating it. The result is thin, curley hair! Pattern to follow...

I made these 2 for a fellow DA member last week, was nice to make a turtle again, haven't made one in ages!

And last but not least, an Alien Bunny in a yellow hoodie lol! I made him for my swap partner in the Amigurumi Addiction 2 Swap over on Craftster. He is made of baby dk yarn and the hoddie is made of Supersoft Aran, the same stuff the Mini Pillow Pals are made of. He also has wire in his arms and legs, so he is posable. My partner loved him!

Wow, alot of stuff! I'm still really busy with it all, was up until 3am last night crocheting. And I still have to post pictures of my girl Zoe, but we haven't had an oppertunity for a proper photo shoot yet. She got a mini guitar yesterday! It's a flying V! Weeeee!!

Hope everyones having a great weekend! :D

What I've Been Making

Been a while since I posted some of my stuff! Here's what I've been up to...

First up was some custom orders I'd been asked to make for Now, Voyager. The order was for 10 bear ear headbands (5 in Pink, 5 in Brown) and 10 little octopuses. I had fun making them all, though after a while it got a bit annoying lol!

Next I made up this lttle monster type thing. It's a combination of amigurumi and hyperbolic crochet; I haven't come up with a name for it yet! Maybe Hyper-gurumi?!

Then I made a bunny for the craft fair I'm doing in December - I called this one Pippin lol! He was made using my Petal The Bunny pattern, with some minor adjustments to his ears, plus I added eyelids. He looks all sleepy lol!

And Last but not least, a monster made from a fab pattern I found on Craftster.org. I called her Flower, and gave her to my cousins daughter Katie. She loved it, but opted to call it Mike lol!

What I've Been Making

Quite alot of stuff to show you this week, as I haven't showed any of my finished things in ages! First up is my first of 2 made up creatures, The Lesser Spotter Lemmyhog...

I named her Beatrice! I started off by wanting to crochet a hedgehog. I made the body and the head and started to attach the spikes, and it looked like hair to me. I thought it looked cute, so added some long legs and the Lemmyhog was born! I posted her on Craftster.org the other day and alot of people have been saying she looks like a landstrider from The Dark Crystal. I've never seen that film in my life so it's weird that I would come up with something that looks like a character from it!

Next was my first go at cables...

I found this great pattern on Ravelry by Elisa Purnell and thought I'd give it a go. I've never been too comfortable with front and back post crocheting, but this pattern made it really simple to understand.

I also made up my own scarf, for the craft fair in December...

Last year I made a rainbow scarf and it sold well at the craft fair, so I decided to make another one. But this one is alot bigger, and is actually ROY G BIV. It's pretty simple to make, but I might put the pattern up on here anyway so people can make their own :)

This is another Octopus made using my Small Ami Octopus Pattern. I called this one Buttercup :) She will be going in my shop, as soon as I get some decent pictures of her.

Next was my second made up creature - the Unioomph! I wanted to make a creature that was made up of all different animals, and came up with this. It's the body/head of a Jellyfish, has the legs and is the size of a Turtle and has a Unicorns horn lol! I decided this creature lives in the sea. They crawl across the bottom of the ocean feeding off small fishes and coral :D

Last but not least was a hat I made for the charity Knit A Square. I've mentioned this charity alot in the past. I've been making squares to send off to South Africa but wanted to try some hats, so I found this easy pattern on Ravelry and made this. I added an extra 2 rows to the length, and added a backwards Sc boarder. I hope the kid that gets it likes it!

Aaaaand that's it! Lots of stuff! At the moment I'm making more hats for Knit A Square, and am thinking about making a kids cardigan. I've never made a cardigan before so it will be a challenge!

Day 06 - Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

What I've Been Making

About a week and a half ago I was looking through DA and found some great pictures to do with Rag Dolls. I thought it'd be nice to make an amigurumi rag doll, so this is what I came up with...

She's about 30cm/12'' tall and made with the usual DK yarn and 3.5mm hook. I wanted to use buttons for eyes this time to make her look more like a rag doll. I also thought I'd try out a weird hair cut. I like weird. I didn't know what to dress her in - I started off by making some felt clothes but it didn't work out. So in the end I crocheted her a dress. Oh, and she hasn't got a name yet. Any ideas? Again, something weird would be nice...

Next up were some more Monsties...

Made them for the fundraising fun day I'm taking part in on Easter Sunday. Did I mention I was doing that?! An old school friend of mine contacted me after seeing my crochet stuff on Facebook and asked me if I'd like a stall. Yay!

Then on *thinks* Monday I got a nice message from someone on Etsy saying they liked my Lolly doll from a while back, and wondered if they could buy the pattern. I found the pattern but it needed altering so I made a new one...

She's called Lolly too lol! The person on Etsy is now testing the pattern for me, if it all goes well I might put it up in my Etsy Shop.

Last but not least...

... Bear Ears Headband! Lmao! I saw a fab pattern on Ravelry for them, but when I tried it out I couldn't get the hang of it. So I made up my own pattern. They are made so they fit any size head, so can be worn by kids or grown-ups. Silly grown ups like me lol! (Yes, that's me in the picture. I hate pictures of myself...)I'm gonna make some more and sell them at the fundraiser.

I haven't done much of the Kokeshi Doll this week. Shame on me. I'm having a hard time seeing the stitches as I'm using black yarn. I'm gonna keep going though - hopefully it should be done in a couple of weeks.
