About

Hey there - I'm Sarah! I'm a 30-something crochet designer and maker. I live in the heart of Essex, England, with my family, pets and ever growing yarn stash!

I have loved making things my whole life, but only started crocheting back in 2008. I taught myself mainly from video tutorials on YouTube. My main goal back then was to try and make an attempt at making the super cute amigurumi I'd seen about on sites like Craftster.org. My first attempts were... interesting! But I was determined to learn, and over the next few months I watched video after video collecting all the tips and tricks I could find. And it got easier! Though even now - 10 years on - I still love to learn new ways to work with yarn as well as different and unique ways of crocheting.

Away from crochet I am an avid toy collector - I love anything kawaii and bright! I am a collector by nature and have amassed many different styles and types of dolls, vinyl figures, collectors pieces and memorabilia. I also have a huge love for Japan and all things Japanese, and was lucky enough in 2016 to complete a life long dream and travel to Tokyo. Needless to say I added ALOT of toys to my collection on my return!

Today I am lucky enough to be working as a crochet designer full time - through my 2 Etsy stores - EssHaych and Eriko's Emporium; where I can combine my love of crochet and toys by designing and creating doll hats and clothing.

So, that's about all there is to know for now! I hope you enjoy looking though my little corner of the internet!
