Happy Birthday Glen

It's my brothers 24th birthday today. Happy Birthday! :D I don't usually make him much (he's too cool to wear anything I make him...) but this year I made him this Lightning Bolt Scarf in his favorite colour...

Lightning Bolt Scarf
Monkey Waffles

He loved it! He probably won't wear it (lol) but will put it on his wall to pin badges to :) I think I'm going to make myself one in pink!

I loved the pattern, it was really easy to follow. I completed it in about 4 hours, over 2 days - quite a quick scarf :)

Also, while we're on the subject of my brother, he and his band FTL have been recording a new CD this year, and today set up their FaceBook page. You can view it here! There will be a CD out in the up coming months and a proper website too. And a video. And merch. Busy.

(Incase you were wondering - my brother is the one of the far left :) )

Apologies and Stuff

First of all I'm sorry for the lack of blogging recently! To tell you the truth I haven't been up to much, so haven't got alot to talk about!! Maybe I should use some journal prompts or something?!

So, not really much to tell you about. I was ment to go to the dentist on Wednesday to watch for the day (I told you I want to train as a dental nurse?) but I got nervous and didn't go :( Shame on me, I know. But I will hopefully have the courage to go along next Wednesday instead, they said they're not fussy when I go in so it's all good :)

On the crochet front - I've made a pink Super Monstie like Candy, a scarf which I made up myself (I will probably put the pattern up on here) and some cute pin cushions I found on Ravelry. I'll have pictures up soon, but my camera is dead at the moment.

It wants to be ready for tomorrow though - I'm off to Wembley Stadium in London to watch Muse! Yay!! I love going to gigs, and the stadium at Wembley is one of my favourite venues. That and the O2. It's between the two of them :) So I will take pictures and post them on here with a review - which will be glowing I'm sure!

Oh, and most importantly - Gus and Gladys are back home! Woohoo! I got loads of lovely goodies from my swap partner Beckashell; again I will post pictures when my camera is back up.

That is all, just thought I'd let you know what's been going on as I haven't updated for a while!

What I've Been Making

Another busy crochet week. I got loads of my Super Massive Kokeshi Doll done, this is what I have so far...

She's HUGE! I'm making the hair now, which is gonna be a right pain as I hate using black yarn. I can never see the stitches properly. Oh well!

In between making the doll I've made a few amigurumi and a scarf. Here's the scarf...

I didn't follow a pattern, I just made it up as I went along. It's basically just a row of about 251 Sc foundation stitches, turn; *Sc, Ch 1, skip one stitch* to the end. Pretty simple but it gives a nice interweaving effect with the different colours. I might make another one in bright rainbow shades.

Next was a pink turtle called Pinkie...

I made her using my Tilly The Turtle pattern. I added a pink flower button to her head as I thought it looked cute! I'm thinking about selling her in my Etsy shop, I'm not too sure yet.

Then it was Bob the Super Monstie...

... I made him using my Super Monstie pattern. I like Bob - he looks really happy and was alot of fun to make. And quick, which is always good. I get bored if something takes me too long to make!

That's about it. In the coming week I'm gonna continue with the Kokeshi doll, and do little bits in between.

Late Nights

One of my problems is my sleep pattern. It's not so much of a problem for me, as just a bit weird.
My sleep pattern is reversed, I sleep for alot of the day and am awake for most of the night. It's got that way over the years, since I got ill in 2001, and it's just slipped out of control.
I don't mind too much, as it means I have the house to myself in the hours whilst everyone's asleep. I like my own company lol! I do alot of crocheting in the small hours, and with no one around it means I get quite alot done.
Last night was one of those times. I finished a scarf I've been making for a swap on Craftster (I'm not gonna post pictures incase my partner sees it...), I wrote a pattern for and made 3 chapstick cosys (I'm thinking of posting the pattern on this blog next week) and I completed the octopus I was telling you about. I finally got to the town on Friday to buy some more yarn, so I could finish off his legs. Here he is...

He doesn't have a name yet. Any suggestions?! And I'm thinking of making him some friends.

So yeah, that's what I do whilst everyones asleep. It's not too bad, just it gets annoying when there's places I want to go during the day! I'm like a bat lol
