A Heavy Weekend

At the weekend I went to see Avenged Sevenfold and co-headliners Stone Sour at the Hammersmith Apollo in London - on Saturday AND Sunday! - t'was a great weekend! Well, if you don't count the trouble with the London Underground and having to trek through a dark, gloomy London guided only by my brothers iphone sat-nav. But we got there both nights ok and on time :)

I must just say before I post any pictures that the seating at the Apollo is terrible. All my pictures were taken by me holding the camera above my head as my view was crap, and they came out abit blurry :(

Support was HellYeah...

... who were abit too shouty for me, but were good anyway. On the Saturday Stone Sour were up before A7X...

... and on the Sunday Corey Taylor wore a dress for Halloween...

... nice! Stone Sour were brilliant - they are a band I wouldn't have gone to see otherwise, so it was really nice to get the chance to see what they were about. I came home and bought loads of their stuff off of itunes lol!

A7X were up last on Saturday...

...and first on Sunday. They were, of course, excellent - can never fault them! It was the first time I've seen them since their drummer Jimmy died in December. They paid tribute to him...

... and it was lovely when the crowd chanted his name on Saturday. R.I.P Jimmy

Oh, and check out the queue for the bar on Sunday...

Lol!

It was a brilliant weekend! I'd been looking forward to it for ages, and it didn't disappoint. Wish I could do it again!! :'(

In other news - I have given myself a blister on my right index finger from crocheting too much. I'm so proud - a crochet injury!! :D

Muuuuuse!

I managed to get out of the house on Friday to go and see Muse at Wembley Stadium *yay!* I was a bit nervous about going (big crowds and the London Underground...) but it was all ok in the end.

We weren't really bothered about seeing the support, so we went a bit later and got there about 7:30pm. It was packed! I've never seen Wembley Way so full, except on match days.

We got in the stadium and had a walk round, and I was was bad and had chicken nugget things and chips :( The price of their food it unbelievable - £8.90 it cost me!!

Muse came on at around 8:45pm, and were on for about 2 hours. Here's the set list:

Uprising
Supermassive Black Hole
New Born
Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)
Butterflies & Hurricanes
Guiding Light
Hysteria
United States Of Eurasia
I Belong To You (+Mon Cœur S'ouvre à Ta Voix)
Feeling Good
Undisclosed Desires
Resistance
Starlight
House Of The Rising Sun
Time Is Running Out
Unnatural Selection
Soldier's Poem
Exogenesis: Symphony Part 1: Overture
Stockholm Syndrome
Take A Bow
Plug In Baby
Knights of Cydonia

During the show the band played on a hexagon platform in the middle of the crowd, and a UFO took to the air from behind the stage, with a woman attached to the underneath of it doing somersaults over the crowd! I do have a video of this, but Blogger is being moody and won't let me upload :(

It was difficult concentrating on the show though, as standing next to my brother was a middle aged man going absolutley NUTS! He nearly hit my brother in the face several times, his arms and legs going everywhere - it was quite entertaining really!

But our night was spoilt abit when it came to leave. After a show my brother and I stick around a while in our seats to let the crowds go down. We left it about 5 minutes then got up to go. As we did a steward was seen coming towards us and a few couples that were there and saying 'Is there a reason why you are sat there relaxing?'! It was the way he said it, bloody cheek! I understand they have to empty the venue so they can go home, but there's no need to talk to people like that. So my brother asked why he was being so mean and he got a load of abuse back from the steward. He was really rude and causing a massive fuss. So we're writing a letter of complaint to the stadium about him. Why are there so many idiots about?!

Apart from that incident it was an enjoyable evening. Our next gig is an Avenged Sevenfold double bill on the 30th and 31st October at Hammersmith. Woohoo!

Green Day

On Saturday my brother and I went to see Green Day at the stadium in Wembley. Naturally, Gus came along too...

We got a lift there in the car from our parents as the trains were playing up. We got there at about 6pm, and went to look at the merch and stuff on Wembley Way. There were stalls selling food, merch, and there was even a Green Day bar, which had a Guitar Hero comp. going on! It was too busy to have a go, so we just went straight round to the stadium.

We found our seats and found, once again, we had a great view of the stage, although it was quite far away! We watched the support (Frank Turner and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts) then went round to get some chips and a drink. After Aerosmith on Tuesday and the drinkies we had there, Gus and I decided not to have anything alcoholic, which was rather wise, I think! We just had a coke and chips :)

Green Day came on at about 7:50pm...

... it was a fab show, one of the best I've ever been to! There was lots of crowd participation (which I love), and messing about and they even got people up from the crowd, including a lad that went and kissed Billy Joe and a little kid that looked like he was going to cry, bless!

Here is Billy Joe in an England wig...

Green Day were on for nearly 3 hours! It was past 11 when we got out of the stadium. It was another 3 HOURS 'till we got home, due to the awful traffic around the stadium.

Our next show is Muse, again at Wembley Stadium. That's not till Septemer though, so it's a while to wait :( I <3 going to concerts! :D

AERO-O-SMITH! And An Etsy Feature!

First up, I got a convo on Etsy the other day to say that my Jacob The Jellyfish pattern has been featured in a treasury! Yay! You can see it here! A massive Thank You to Bernadette for including him in her fab treasury! :D

Secondly, yesterday I went with my brother to see Aerosmith at The O2 Arena in London! We took Gus too, here he is outside the arena lol!

We got an upgrade on our tickets, so we got to go into the 'VIP' area, which consisted of a lounge, bar and a casino area. Whilst there we had a few drinkies, which was bad of me as I'm on medication :( Oh well!

The show was EXCELLENT, I've wanted to see Aerosmith for so many years now and it was difficult to believe that they were actually in front of me! Our seats were fab too, we had a clear view of the stage.

I had a banging headache afterwards (serves me right for drinking) so it was home and straight to bed. I woke up at 3.30am with a terrible eye pain, so wandered downstairs and had some painkillers. I really shouldn't drink again!

A fun time was had by all! On Saturday we do it all again with Green Day! Woohoo!

As always, to see more on Gus' adventures Please visit his blog here :D

Random Photos No.4

This is a 'thing' hanging from the ceiling outside the entrance to The O2 Arena in Greenwich, London. I've been to The O2 many times for concerts, and this time I was there to see the fab Foo Fighters in 2007. Doesn't seem like 3 years ago! I'd gone with my younger brother Glen - I go with him to most concerts as we're both into the same stuff.

This is the view from where we were sitting! It's a long way up! There's a warning on the tickets saying if you are afraid of heights you shouldn't sit up there!

This is a picture from the show itself. Look at all the people! For this bit of the concert the band moved everything to the centre of the arena for an acoustic set, then returned to the stage.

It was a great day -I'd love to go see Foo Fighters again.

Bunnys, Russell Brand and Journals

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I didn't get up to much (as usual...); my Nan came round on Saturday, which is always nice though.

On Sunday I got an email from the lovely Slingmomma from Craftster.org saying she'd finished pattern testing my Petal The Bunny ami pattern! I love seeing the ami's people make from my patterns! If my testers send me pictures after they've made their ami's I always save them onto my computer, I love looking back at them!

Slingmomma said I could use the pictures on my blog, so here she is!

Cute, a?! She's gonna be sent off in a swap; I hope Slingmomma's swap partner loves her as much as I do!

And OMG, guess what I got at the weekend?! Finally, tickets to see Russell Brand! Yay! He's been promising to do another gig in London since August, now it's finally been anounsed! It's gonna be at The Royal Albert Hall - posh! I've seen him once before - earlier this year at the O2. That gig is gonna be out on DVD in November! I better not be on it - I would be so embarrassed!

I'm thinking of starting a journal. I already have a diary but I don't write in it that often. I was looking around Craftster on Sunday evening and found a thread about what people write in their journals, it was very inspiring! Think I might do one in list format and keep my normal diary too. If you have a journal, what do you write about? I need more inspiration lol!
