Cuddle Monster WIP

Above are the feet of yet another monster I'm designing :D He's gonna be at least 12'' tall, have rainbow arms and legs, and frog like eyes on the top of his head. He's being made for one thing - cuddling!

I've done the legs, and am now starting on the body. But I feel like this ami is gonna take quite a while to finish as he's so big. I get bored easily so will probably just do afew rows a day - he might get done in about a week.

I'll keep you updated!

Self Portrait WIP 2

I've been working alot on my 'Me' doll recently, here's what I've done so far...

Nearly finished the 2 legs, and I've added a cross necklace and a lip piercing.

Legs and arms complete, plus...

I added some tattoos - this one is my cross and dates ones on my left wrist, and...

... this is my bat on my right ankle :) They're the best I could do lol!

I'm having a rest from doing this doll for now - it's kind of gettng on my nerves! But I will complete it by the 31st! :D

Self Portrait WIP 1

I got a message from the lovely Crystal the other day telling me about a contest over on DeviantArt, where you make a self portrait plushie. I had a look into it and it looks like alot of fun, so I'm going to enter!

Here's what I've made so far...

You're probably wondering why she's only got one eye lol! I'm blind in my left eye - have been since I was a baby, so I wanted a doll that had only one eye. Kind of symbolic, you know? I don't really look like that lol!

She's wearing a red and white stripy t-shirt - one of my fav shirts. She's also going to be wearing a black skirt, removable black mary-jane shoes and have a lip piercing. If I can embroider the tattoos then I'll do that too - but I think that will be abit tricky!

I plan on adding to this doll over the rest of the month - the contest finishes on the 31st - so check back to see how she's turning out!

Flibble

After coming across a Red Dwarf swap on Craftster.org yesterday and that picture of Rimmer and Mr. Flibble, I decided to make a Mr. Flibble amigurumi puppet.

To get more inspiration I dragged out my Red Dwarf DVD boxset and watched the classic episode, Quarantine. I'd forgotton how funny it was, and the episode also features a crochet hat reference hahah!

Then I got out my wool and hook and came up with this...

Mr. Flibbles body! I decided to make it with aran weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook, so it didn't take that long to crochet up. It's nice and soft on your hand too :)

As you can see I left slits for where the mouth goes, so all you have to do is crochet the mouth pieces and sew them over the gaps. Sounds easy, but we'll see how it goes!

Pink Jellyfish: A Work In Progress

I've been asked to do another craft fair this Christmas! So I need more 'stock'. Que crazy fast crocheting, including this Jellyfish made from my Jacob The Jellyfish pattern!

I start, as always, with the main body/head of the toy. I chose bright pink for this one. Nice!

This is the head/body, the bottom of the body and the hanging loop finished. I like to use 2 different colours for my jellyfish and thought these 2 pinks worked well together.

Starting to make the 1st of 4 big tentacles (are they called tentacles on jellyfish?! Stingers?!!) . It's basically just a chain with lots of DC's into each chain stitch.

Big tentacles done, time for the smaller ones. These little guys need a bit of help curling up, so I wind them round a pencil/pen.

All the jellyfish parts done! Time for the sewing. There's quite alot...

All the tentacles sewn on to the bottom of the body. I arrange them in a kind of 3-9-6-12 pattern to make them even.

With the bottom of the body sewn on, she's finished! Took a couple of hours - most of that was the sewing lol! Anyone got a name?!

I've made 6 jellyfish in all, 3 for Brentwood and 3 for the other show I've been asked to do. Yep, they ASKED me to do it lol! I hope they're not dissapointed with my stuff! More WIP's to come, as I'm making things all the time for the fairs. My amigurumi army is growing...
