Been A Baaaad Blogger

Wow, how long has it been since I updated this blog?!! So sorry for not being around, to tell you the truth I've been having a craft break since the new year, and haven't made one single amigurumi *shock!*. I also wanted to spend some time away from my computer, so I shut my Etsy shop. But it's back open now, but I'm still not taking custom orders at the mo :)

So, how is everyone?! I hope you're all well! You might wonder what I've been up to as I haven't been crocheting, well I've been collecting (and buying LOADS of) postcards!


Last year I joined Swap-Bot and Postcrossing in the hope of starting a small postcard collection. I love the thought of recieveing and sending snail mail all over the world and hearing about people's lives. I had a small collection by the end of the year, but in the middle of January I went on a mad swapping spree at Swap-Bot. I now have about 150 postcards collected in 9 months lol


To feed my swapping obsession I have had to find cheaper ways to get my hands on postcards to send to my partners. I was spending about 70p ($1.15) on each postcard I bought, and it was getting silly. So I got stuck into Ebay.co.uk and found loads of fab deals! They now only cost me on average 5p (80c) each! Yay!


After saying all that, if anyone reading my blog would like to swap postcards with me I would be more than happy to do so! I like any postcards - ones of where you're from, where you've been, anything cute/kawaii, animals, transport, art... anything! I even like Ad cards and handmade cards. Apart from all that I haven't really been up to much else. I heard back from Kings College about my dental nurse training - I will be starting in June and they will start processing my application next month. Exciting! Also I recieved a wonderful birthday/Christmas package last month from my good friend Jillz at One Pink Hippo! So many fab things - I will upload the piccies!

Happy New Year!

Wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fab night on Friday! I did the usual and stayed home (I'm never invited to parties :p) but I got to watch the London fireworks display on BBC1 lol Thank you to everyone that has messaged me with New Year wishes - I really appreciate it! :D

So, what's going to be happening this year? Well, I have some news - I got a trainee job!! *Shock-Horror!* You may remember back in May my post about Career Choices, where I talked about feeling better and maybe persuing a career as a Dental Nurse? Well, in September I applied to Kings College Hospital in London for a trainee position, and after 2 rounds of tests and an awkward interview infront of a panel, I got an email on my birthday to say I had got the position! I know, it's weird, right?! I still have to go for the medical (should be fun) but as long as it's all fine I should be starting in June :D

This is where I break the bad news. Because this is a full time job and a 2 year college course all rolled into one, I am gonna have hardly any time to do anything, let alone crochet :( So if I decide to go ahead and accept the job, I'm afraid you won't be seeing much of me from June onwards :( I'll still post on here when I can, as I'd hate to lose contact with the fab people I've met through doing this. I just won't be doing much crocheting and stuff. I'll miss it! :'(

So that's mainly whats happening with me; I hope everyone else has a great year lined up, and that it's better than 2010 if you had a crappy one like mine mostly was :)
