Not ruined exactly, but it can easily happen with me.

Some of you already know but I have OCD, and one of my 'things' is I can't touch things that have been on the floor. So if I drop a project on the floor I can't carry on with it, and if I drop a ball of yarn on the floor I usually throw it away. I've not lost too many projects due to this strangeness, but I have wasted alot of yarn. It's so fustrating, I hate it so much, but there's something in me that will just not touch it again, let alone make something with it :(

ReplyDeleteaww, that sucks :( Maybe you could crochet over a blanket laid out on the floor, that way if you drop it it won't actually touch the floor. Or, if you drop a ball of yarn you could give it to a friend instead of throwing it away.
ReplyDeleteAwh, I didn't know it was that severe! I'm sorry. :(
ReplyDeleteSend me your dropped yarn hehe! I could always return one that hasn't been dropped :-D
ReplyDeletegoodness that must be so frustrating i'm dropping things all the time
ReplyDeletemy flower bed blanket i made wasn't exactly ruined but i decided it needed blocking and i used a steam iron that was too hot now some of the flowers are flat and i'm disheartened with it so no more blocking for me
Thanks all! :) Reading the post back now it seems like such a stupid thing to get worked up about lol :p
ReplyDeleteSmiles - The blanket is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that :) And you're right, I should find a new home for the dropped yarn so it doesn't go to waste - I suppose I could use it to fill amigurumi, maybe?
Jill - Aaahhh that's ok! Luckily enough I don't drop that much yarn :)
Nicole - Hehe! If I did it on a regular basis you would be more than welcome, but I don't drop that much, Thank God :)
Joan - I've never tried blocking, and I will be aware of steam irons if I ever try it! Sorry your blanket got squashed :(
I was going to make the same offer as Nicole - I'll gladly swap any yarn. I didn't realise you have OCD. I do too, but not so bad that it affects my daily life really. I just have lists of everything, and I have to have everything (paperwork wise at least), really really organised. Not that you could tell from looking at the state of my house.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cel'eena :) And I'm the same - you wouldn't think I have obsessions about cleanliness if you could see my bedroom!! XD
