My first finished crochet project was a little tomato amigurumi back in 2008.

I didn't have a pattern as such - I just copied what WireMySoul was doing on Youtube. Then added eyes, mouth and felt leaves, because I didn't know how to crochet them yet.
Looking back now I can see there are many mistakes, including crocheting in the back loops only, plus it's 'inside out'. But I was mega pleased with him at the time, and I still have him in my room!
Hehe...my first ami was crocheted in the BLO and inside out too :P
ReplyDeleteIt's so easily done!! :p

Aawww that's so nice!! I had no idea!! :D That was a big old pattern, good for you for not being intimidated by it!!I know I would've been!
ReplyDeleteI crocheted my first in BLO too, gla I'm not the only one to do that hehe.
ReplyDeleteHi, new to your blog. I must say its wonderful.
ReplyDeleteTo answer the question, the first thing I ever crocheted was a twisting hair tie when I was 8 years old. I didn't crochet again until about 2 years ago when my mom taught me to make stitches other than single crochet and chains. Then I made an afghan for my husband. My first amigurumi though was a pokemon called voltorb, a perfect circle I figured it would be easy - NOT, I didn't stuff it enough and its now flat, my color changes are very obvious, and I sewed his eyes on crooked. Luckily my son is very forgiving and loves it.
