Flowers, A Blanket and Uniloomph Art

Currently: Listening To: Feel Good Drag - Anberlin /Reading: Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson /Making: Secret Ami Project!

I recently finished my first big granny square blanket! It's for a relative, but I don't think they check this blog out so I can post a picture here :)

Took about a month and a half, not as long as I thought it would. It was fun - I made it whilst watching tv in the living room with my parents in the evenings :) Lots of Coronation Street and Eastenders I'm afraid :( Secondly here's one of the flowers I did last week

I tried to felt it by putting it in the washing machine, but it didn't really do anything. I have a pattern for this, which I'll post soon :) Last but not least I got a lovely drawing from my Etsy pal Nayoko! Yay!

Isn't it great?! It shows Stuart the Uniloomph saying goodbye to his twin Ezekiel, who was sent to live in America with Nayoko last month. Notice the black patches on his feet?! It's called 'The Reason We Ship Them In Boxes' :D Thank you Nayoko! We miss Ezekiel!!

  1. Woo! ^.^ I'm a little scared the picture might seem too blah but color and shading take forever because i havent practiced in either! T.T

The blanket turned out great!! Felting the flower with a washing machine? is that how they do it?

  2. I love your picture!! It looks great!!

And Thank you!! I like it so much I'm tempted to keep it for myself lol! Yeah, that's how you felt crocheted or knitted things :) But I think you need to use proper, natural wool, instead of the acrylic stuff I use :(

  3. Ah i see, yea there is probably a process, but it's nice to know those kinda things. My grandmother actually knitted me a blanket for Christmas! *snuggles blanket* It's awesome, very slate grey, like the color i would think gargoyles are! With little red trim! ^.^ I might post the pictures you send me after we get the finished products of some stuff, but i wont post the designs. XD

  4. I really like the colors of the blanket! Rainbow, but muted. Me gusta.

And any animal fibers will felt, except silk. Mainly wool. Superwash wool won't, and I don't think blends will, but I'm sure you can get some for not too expensive. Or I can mail you some.

I'm still really excited for the flower pattern!

And a blog post will be up soon because I received your package. :3
