The Birth Of Mr. Wonkey

I was actually in quite a crochet mood tonight, so I decided to get some stuff made for the craft stall I'm doing at Christmas. I need to make some Monsties (about 10) that I can bundle into a big bowl and sell.

So I started one. Then I thought 'Wouldn't it be weird to have a multi-coloured Monstie?'. I've never made or seen one before so I gave it a go. I then thought I'd give him different sized eyes. I've recently bought some lovely safetly eyes from 6060 on Etsy, and have been trying out different sizes (They are great eyes btw - I ordered some more a minute ago).

I was almost finished with him when I noticed his legs were totally different sizes. I was gonna frog him, but felt kind of sorry for him so I decided to make a 'Wonkey Monstie'. This is him in all his wonkey glory:

Bless him!! His left leg is a full 3rd smaller than his right, his mouth is on wonkey, he has different sized eyes and he's all randomly stripey! I like him - I kind of don't want to sell him! I think I will be making more Wonkey Monsties! <3

I got an email today saying that my Lydia The Flumplebee has been featured in this fab treasury on Etsy! Yay!! Go and check it out - it's full of really cute items picked out by, and I quote, '...very discerning 8 year old young lady' :D

Thank you very much to MerciBuckets and the young lady in question - it's an honor to be amongst such sweet items! :D

Christmas Cards?! Too Early!!?

Yeah, I know it's only October, but I've started putting together my Christmas card list! And like last year, I'm willing to send anyone a Christmas card, wherever you are in the world :) And like before, I won't use your address to send you junk mail or anything. I just love snail mail lol!

So, if you would like me to send you a cute Christmas card, simply send me your postal address and I'll send you one towards the end of November :) I'd email your address to me rather than comment with it below (Esshaych@hotmail.co.uk), as you don't want everyone seeing your address lol!

I want to send LOADS of cards! Yay! :D

Another New Pattern!

Just listed in my Etsy Shop...

Florence The Flumplebee PDF pattern!

Background info on Flumplebees...

The Fumplebees are a shy and quiet race of fairys. They live in garden sheds and like nothing better than flying around the garden on a nice summers day collecting petals and twigs.

Hope you like her! :D

3 New Patterns and a Face Lift

I finally got round to uploading my new pictures and banner to my Etsy Shop today. There is a cloud/heavenly theme running through it all - I hope you will like it!

I also uploaded 3 new patterns! We have...

Gibbley - The Monster Under The Bed

Cuddle Monster

Apple In A Suit

I still have the Flumplebee PDF to write out, should be done by Monday. I really hope you like the new patterns - Thank you again to all the people that tested them for me!

I must just say too that I have taken the Uniloomph, Jacob The Jellyfish and Tilly The Turtle pattern down for now. I am still in the middle of re-writing them. They should be back up by Christmas though :)

Hope you like!

A New Hobby?

I've been on the look out for a while now for different things to occupy my seemingly endless free time. I love crocheting - but there's only so much you can do!

I've always wanted to try needle felting, so the other week I bought myself a starter kit from Ebay...

Yay! You get 50g of GB wool tops, 3 needles in different sizes, a foam block, handle and instructions. I played about for a little while, after watching some videos on trusty old YouTube, and after half an hour or so (and an aching arm!) I got this; my first needle felted thing!

Lol! Not too sure what it is - just a blob with a face really! I've made a little man since, but he hasn't got a face yet (I need more colours of wool). I'll show you when he's finished :)

I think I'm going to buy more wool and keep at it. It's not easy getting the shape you want (the face above was ment to be a ball...) but, like with crochetng, I'm sure over time I'll improve :)

Mini Monsters and Cupcake Stands

I was bored yesterday so decided to make up yet another monster. I call this one the Flying Cyblob...

He's about 2' tall, has one eye, wings, a weird horn/ear thing and a fluffy tail. I'm thinking of making loads of them in different sizes for my craft stall :)

Talking of, I bought this from Ebay.co.uk last week...

... a cardboard cupcake stand! I've been on the look out for cupcake stands for a while now as I thought little ami's would look cute on them, but they are so expensive. Then I found a cardboard one for a fraction of the price - Yay! It's massive, so I'm going to have to make loads of ami's for it. When I've done all of them I'll take pictures :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
