Post Secrets 3 & 4

Front: 'Old people make me feel unfomfortable'
Back: 'I feel so guilty about this because I even avoid my own grandmother'

Don't feel bad - there's a phobia of old people called Gerontophobia, it's quite common *hugs*

'I Want To Join The Club'

I've never seen Glee, but have seen it advertised on Channel 4. It looks like alot of fun!

Thank you to the people that sent me these lovely cards! I'm collecting them all up and sticking them on the back of my door!

Green Day

On Saturday my brother and I went to see Green Day at the stadium in Wembley. Naturally, Gus came along too...

We got a lift there in the car from our parents as the trains were playing up. We got there at about 6pm, and went to look at the merch and stuff on Wembley Way. There were stalls selling food, merch, and there was even a Green Day bar, which had a Guitar Hero comp. going on! It was too busy to have a go, so we just went straight round to the stadium.

We found our seats and found, once again, we had a great view of the stage, although it was quite far away! We watched the support (Frank Turner and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts) then went round to get some chips and a drink. After Aerosmith on Tuesday and the drinkies we had there, Gus and I decided not to have anything alcoholic, which was rather wise, I think! We just had a coke and chips :)

Green Day came on at about 7:50pm...

... it was a fab show, one of the best I've ever been to! There was lots of crowd participation (which I love), and messing about and they even got people up from the crowd, including a lad that went and kissed Billy Joe and a little kid that looked like he was going to cry, bless!

Here is Billy Joe in an England wig...

Green Day were on for nearly 3 hours! It was past 11 when we got out of the stadium. It was another 3 HOURS 'till we got home, due to the awful traffic around the stadium.

Our next show is Muse, again at Wembley Stadium. That's not till Septemer though, so it's a while to wait :( I <3 going to concerts! :D

Post Secret No.2

I recieved my second Post Secret on Saturday!

It reads: 'I bought a sewing machine in 2008, this is the first time I've used it. Hopefully I can improve in the future and not break anymore needles. People usually think I am an avid machine sewer when they see my machine... I don't correct them.'

I can relate to this card too - I bought a £1500 Gibson guitar a few years ago but have never really used it. People think I'm a great guitarist because I own a Gibson!

Thank you to the Craftster that sent me their secret :)

Post Secret No.1

Over on Craftster.org I am taking part in the latest round of the Post Secrets Swap.

The swap is inspired by the fab site Post Secrets, where anonymous people send in postcards with a secret written on them. I love this idea, so decided to join the swap.

I got my first card the other day, here it is:

It's a beautiful card, and I can totally relate with this person. Whoever you are - I hope you feel like you have catched up soon *hugs*.

More Post Secrets as I recieve them...

AERO-O-SMITH! And An Etsy Feature!

First up, I got a convo on Etsy the other day to say that my Jacob The Jellyfish pattern has been featured in a treasury! Yay! You can see it here! A massive Thank You to Bernadette for including him in her fab treasury! :D

Secondly, yesterday I went with my brother to see Aerosmith at The O2 Arena in London! We took Gus too, here he is outside the arena lol!

We got an upgrade on our tickets, so we got to go into the 'VIP' area, which consisted of a lounge, bar and a casino area. Whilst there we had a few drinkies, which was bad of me as I'm on medication :( Oh well!

The show was EXCELLENT, I've wanted to see Aerosmith for so many years now and it was difficult to believe that they were actually in front of me! Our seats were fab too, we had a clear view of the stage.

I had a banging headache afterwards (serves me right for drinking) so it was home and straight to bed. I woke up at 3.30am with a terrible eye pain, so wandered downstairs and had some painkillers. I really shouldn't drink again!

A fun time was had by all! On Saturday we do it all again with Green Day! Woohoo!

As always, to see more on Gus' adventures Please visit his blog here :D

Southend With Gus

Today I visited Southend-On-Sea with my Mum and Gus - my Little Visitor for the summer.

Southend is only 20mins away by train, and it's a nice journey too. When we got there we did some shopping - which included this fab wool shop that my friend Kerry told me about a while ago. I bought 7 balls of yarn! Thanks Kerry! :D

We went to the sea front, looked at the pier and went into Adventure Island. After that we walked along to Chinnery's and into the arcades. I took lots of pics, here's one of Gus and I on the 5p machines...

You can see more of our trip to Southend, including loads of pics and a video, over on Gus' blog. Yes, I even got a video lol! :D

Flibble

After coming across a Red Dwarf swap on Craftster.org yesterday and that picture of Rimmer and Mr. Flibble, I decided to make a Mr. Flibble amigurumi puppet.

To get more inspiration I dragged out my Red Dwarf DVD boxset and watched the classic episode, Quarantine. I'd forgotton how funny it was, and the episode also features a crochet hat reference hahah!

Then I got out my wool and hook and came up with this...

Mr. Flibbles body! I decided to make it with aran weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook, so it didn't take that long to crochet up. It's nice and soft on your hand too :)

As you can see I left slits for where the mouth goes, so all you have to do is crochet the mouth pieces and sew them over the gaps. Sounds easy, but we'll see how it goes!

Mr Flibble Is Very Cross...

I've got to make one of these...

"Because the king of the potato people won't let me. I begged him. I went down on my knees and wept. He wants to keep you here... keep you here for ten years"

Those of you that have ever watched Red Dwarf will know what on earth I'm on about here!

I'll keep you posted :D

What I've Been Making

Been a while since I posted some of my stuff! Here's what I've been up to...

First up was some custom orders I'd been asked to make for Now, Voyager. The order was for 10 bear ear headbands (5 in Pink, 5 in Brown) and 10 little octopuses. I had fun making them all, though after a while it got a bit annoying lol!

Next I made up this lttle monster type thing. It's a combination of amigurumi and hyperbolic crochet; I haven't come up with a name for it yet! Maybe Hyper-gurumi?!

Then I made a bunny for the craft fair I'm doing in December - I called this one Pippin lol! He was made using my Petal The Bunny pattern, with some minor adjustments to his ears, plus I added eyelids. He looks all sleepy lol!

And Last but not least, a monster made from a fab pattern I found on Craftster.org. I called her Flower, and gave her to my cousins daughter Katie. She loved it, but opted to call it Mike lol!
